Biography:

On June 8th, 2015, former Seahawks Men's Basketball alumni, Mark English, was named the Head Coach of the Women's Basketball team at Memorial University. Mark played 4 years for the Seahawks after playing his high school basketball at Fatima Academy, located in St. Brides, Newfoundland. 

Mark started his coaching career in 2009 at Gonzaga High School. During his second season with Gonzaga, Mark would lead the Vikings to its winningest season in school history. They would be the first team from Newfoundland to capture the prestious Coal Bowl title, a high school tournament hosted in New Waterford, N.S every year. Also, they were winners of the NLBA Hall of Fame Cup and the 4A Provincial Championships. Both were the first in the schools history for boys basketball. 

In 2011, Mark moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario where he joined Scott Morrison's staff with the Lakehead University Men's basketball program. In 2012-2013, Lakehead would finish as CIS sliver medalists. 

On August 29th, 2014, Mark was named as the Head Coach of the UPEI Women's Basketball team. In Mark's first year as a CIS head coach, he would lead the Panthers to a 13-7 regular season record. The team also made it to the AUS finals that season. This would be for the first time in 17 years for UPEI.
