Shoot For The Cure

This past Saturday night, versus Dalhousie, the women's basketball team hosted the annual "Shoot For The Cure" game. All 44 CIS women's basketball teams participate in this fundraiser. The goal is to raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. This year, two of our fourth year players, Carolyn Adams and Katherine Vanden Elzen, took the lead on organizing our event. The team hosted a bake sale, sold tickets on a gift basket containing donated items, and volunteered at a local Junior High school basketball tournament.  Seahawks female soccer player, Maria Mackey, also helped by cutting and donating eight inches of her hair. (Thanks Maria!!)

The event was an overwhelming success, as the team raised $2,138.10 for this great cause!

Awesome job ladies!
