The first annual Marie's Mini Mart Fall Classic concluded on Sunday morning with the Memorial Sea-Hawks defeating the Bishop's Gaiters by a score of 77 to 63. The win gave Memorial a 2-1 overall record on the weekend, which was good enough for 2nd place overall behind Bishop's who finished first based on points differential.
The Sea-Hawks were lead to victory behind 21 points and 4 rebounds from Sydney Ezekiel (St. John's, NL) and 20 points and 3 assists from Lindsay Taylor (Waterloo, ON).
Earlier in the morning the Brandon University Bobcats defeated the Nipissing Lakers, giving Brandon a 2-1 final record as well. Nipissing finished the weekend at 0-3.
The Sea-Hawks dropped their first game of the weekend on Friday night against Brandon by a score of 84-76. Brooklyn Wright (Cambridge, ON) was the Sea-Hawks leading scorer with 24 points while also adding 3 rebounds in the loss.
Memorial won their first game of the weekend on Saturday evening versus the Nipissing Lakers by a final core of 71-49. Sydney Stewart (Sarnia, ON) lead the way for the Sea-Hawks with 19 points and 5 rebounds with Sydney Ezekiel chipping in with 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.
