The Memorial Sea-Hawks cross country team will be sending 4 members of their squad to the USports Championships set for November 12 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The Sea-Hawks will feature runners Levi Moulton and Noah Defreyne in the men's division while having Maria Chafe and Nicole Hollohan in the women's event. One of the more experienced runners on the team Moulton enjoyed a solid AUS championship, finishing 8th with a time of 25:33. Defreyne also turned in a solid performance for the Sea-Hawks, posting a solid time of 27:34, good for 24 th place. These two finishes in the AUS Championships were enough to propel them into a spot in the USports Championships.
On the women's side both Maria Chafe and Nicole Hollahan did enough at the recent AUS Championships to warrant a spot at nationals. Chafe led the Sea-Hawks with a time of 31:48, good for a 14 th place finish in the final conference event of the season. Hollahan was also able to post a good result, coming in at a time of 32:16, resulting in a 19 th place finish.
Moulton, Defreyne, Chafe, and Hollahan will try to take their experience gained this season and use that to their advantage as they travel to compete for a USports championship.
