Sea-Hawks Hit the Road to New Brunswick for their First Away Games to Take on the Reds and Blue Eagles

The Memorial Sea-Hawks are running off of a dominant weekend where they defeated the Dalhousie Tigers twice to walk away from their first weekend with 6 points.

The Sea-Hawks started the season off strong, defeating Dalhousie by scores of 1-0 and 3-2. In the first game resulting in a 1-0 win, AUS athlete of the week Colin Connors was the sole goal scorer. Sea-Hawks goalie Louis-Charles Vaillancourt had an uneventful game saving all 2 shots on net to record his first shutout of the season. The last game of the double header resulted in a 3-2 win for the Sea-Hawks with quick goals during the 29th minute from Hashem Khalifa and Gus Opuoro followed by a goal from Felly Elonda in the second half.

After delivering outstanding performances in both games over the weekend and building on an impressive preseason, Memorials own Colin Connors earned the title of AUS Athlete of the Week in acknowledgment of his remarkable displays.

Up next, the Memorial Sea-Hawks are traveling to New Brunswick for a game against the UNB Reds (1,1,0) on Friday, September 8th at 7:15 ADT, followed by the Moncton Blue Eagles (0,2,0) on Sunday, September 10th at 2:15 ADT. UNB is going into our game with a win and a loss so far with strong scoring showings from Keji Adeniyi, Stefano D'Ambrogio, and Alex Oprea all with a goal each. Moncton on the other hand currently has two losses and has been struggling for offense not being able to net the ball so far this season and having only 3 recorded shots on goal.

The Sea-Hawks will be fighting for 6 more points this weekend in New Brunswick to stay within the top of the standings in the league. Hoping to continue to add the scoresheet are some key attackers such as Colin Connors and Felly Elonda while defenders such as former captain Harry Carter attempt to deny the other team access to challenging star goalkeeper Louis-Charles Vaillancourt.
