Sea-Hawks Add UK Standout Ethan Conway to 2025-26 Roster

St. John's, NL - The Memorial Sea-Hawks men's basketball program is thrilled to announce the commitment of Ethan Conway, a dynamic 6'5 shooting guard from London, UK, who will be joining the team for the 2025-26 season.

Conway brings a wealth of experience and talent to Memorial, having played the past three years at Barking Abbey School, one of the premier basketball programs in the UK. Prior to his time at Barking Abbey, he developed his game with the Richmond Knights for six years. He has also showcased his skills on the international stage, representing Great Britain at the European Championship with both the U16 and U18 national teams.

A proven winner, Conway played a key role in leading Barking Abbey to EABL championship titles in both the 2022-23 and 2024-25 seasons. His outstanding performance during the most recent campaign earned him the prestigious MVP title for the EABL South League.

Ethan will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Memorial University. He expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Sea-Hawks, stating, "I am most excited to play high-level basketball and grow as a player in a new environment where my ability will be tested."

When asked why he chose Memorial, Conway said, "I chose Memorial because it offers a chance to play high-level basketball in a new environment where I can grow as a player and person."

Conway follows in the footsteps of current graduate Flynn Boardman-Raffet, another standout from the Barking Abbey program. Flynn had an illustrious career with the Sea-Hawks, earning AUS 1st Team All-Star honors twice and being named to the AUS All-Rookie Team. The program is excited to continue the strong connection to UK basketball talent and looks forward to seeing Ethan make his mark in St. John's.

Barking Abbey Head Coach James Vear also praised Conway's commitment to his craft, saying, "We are really excited for Ethan to take the next step in his basketball career at Memorial. Ethan is one of the hardest working players I have had the pleasure of working with and I expect him to become a standout player in the AUS over the coming years."

Head Coach Ian Coultas expressed his excitement about Conway's commitment, saying, "Ethan brings a unique combination of skill, athleticism, and international experience to our program. His ability to score and his relentless work ethic will make an immediate impact. We're looking forward to welcoming him to St. John's."
