Sea-Hawks look to Extend Win Streak

The Memorial Sea-Hawks Men's basketball team (3-3) will be hitting the court in Nova Scotia to take on the Acadia Axe-Men (4-2).

Coming off of a red hot two win weekend , the Sea-Hawks are looking to extend their win streak.

Last weekend, the Sea-Hawks faced the St. FX X-Men at home where they walked away with two hard fought wins. The first of the weekend, ended in a 92-78 win for the Sea-Hawks. Memorial came back from an early St.FX lead to outscore their opponent in each of the first three quarters.  The X-Men then found their groove and held Memorial to only 13 points in the last quarter. Despite the X-Men's impressive finish, the Sea-Hawks were able to walk away with the win. The two teams faced again the next day. Memorial was able to pose an impressive 33-14 lead after just the first quarter due to an abundance of missed shots by the X-Men. St.FX then once again picked up the pace and outscored their opponents in the second and fourth quarter with the third being close as well. The X-Men could not come back from the drought they found themselves in during the first quarter and the game ended in a 83-74 win for Memorial.

The Memorial Sea-Hawks will face the Acadia Axe-Men this weekend who are also on a two game winning streak. Acadia's Glen Cox currently leads the AUS in points per game with 26.7,  overall points with 160, and is first in both field goals and free throws. Other notable players on the Axe-Men include Miguel Perez Boskovic averaging 11.5 points per game and Demeric Mercer averaging 10.5.

The Sea-Hawks are led by 5th in the league for points per game, Emmanuel Ring averaging 19. Ring is second in the league for total points with 152 where he is trailed by teammate Flynn Boardman-Raffet with 143. Memorial takes 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the AUS for free throws with Boardman-Raffet and Ring with 43 each and Nick Tuff with 35.
