(St. John's, NL) The Memorial Sea-Hawks men's basketball team is pleased to announce the signing of Ivan Tsafack for the 2023-24 season. Tsafack is a 6'5" forward from Quebec City, QC. Ivan joins the Sea-Hawks after attending Dynamiques du Cegep de Sainte-Foy.

"We are thrilled that Ivan has decided to come to Memorial and join our program. He is an outstanding defender, with the ability to guard multiple positions. When I first watched Ivan play, his toughness and competitive nature stood out, but he also brings versatility on offense, which I'm excited to help him develop further. I believe he will make an immediate impact in the AUS and I can't wait for him to join us in August", said Memorial Head Coach Ian Coultas.

Ivan was named team MVP of Sainte-Foy this past season, who finished the year with a 14-8 regular season record. Tsafack finished the season with averages of 11.7 PPG & 9.9 RPG.

Sainte-Foy Head Coach Vincent Plante, speaks very highly of the Sea-Hawks new addition.

"During his time with St. Foy, Ivan has been an awesome teammate and a blast to coach. Right away he will bring physicality, defense and rebounding at the U Sports level. I'm looking forward to see him compete next year with the Memorial Sea-Hawks!"

When asked why he chose Memorial, he had the following to say.

"Memorial was a team that showed me the most interest and I felt they really wanted me on the team. Coach Coultas and the guys on the team are amazing. They made me feel comfortable with them immediately during my visit, and I really appreciated that."

He also added, "When I'm on the court I'm competitive and play with heart. I will battle hard and do what it takes to help the team win. I can't wait to compete against the best players in the league and prove myself."

Ivan will be studying Business at Memorial.
