Hawks Host Series with UNB

The Sea-Hawks men's basketball team host the UNB Reds for a 2-game series this weekend at The Field House.

This is the Hawks first regular season action since Nov. 24/25, when they dropped two close games on the road in Cape Breton. Memorial took part in the 27th annual Shoveller Tournament in Halifax last weekend, finishing with a 2-1 record, defeating the Holland Hurricanes and Cape Breton Capers, while dropping a match versus the Saint Mary's Huskies.

Memorial enters this weekend in 7th place in the AUS standings with a 2-5 record. UNB sits in 2nd place overall with a 5-2 record on the season. With this being the teams only matchup of the season, each game is worth 4 points in the standings.

The Sea-Hawks are led by Emanuel Ring and Nathan Barker, who currently sit in 2nd and 3rd in league scoring. Ring is averaging 20.0 PTS/G and 8.7 REB/G in his rookie season. While Barker comes into the weekend averaging 19.9 PTS/G and 6.9 REB/G.

UNB's Ibrahima Doumbouya and Jesse Kendall are tied for 5th in league scoring, averaging 17.0 PTS/G.

The Sea-Hawks and Reds play on Saturday at 8:00PM and on Sunday at 2:00PM at The Field House. Games are also available live on AUStv.ca.
