Sea-Hawks Travel To Halifax To Take On The Tigers, Huskies

The Memorial Sea-Hawks make their way across the Atlantic to face-off against both the Dalhousie Tigers (1-1-1) and the Saint Mary's Huskies (3-1-0) this weekend.

The Sea-Hawks will look to avenge their two defeats at the hands of the Cape Breton Capers last weekend and are looking to improve their play in this young season. This squad will once again rely on their top offensive threats to carry them to victory over the next few days, players like attacker Jacob Grant and Felly Elonda will be key in outscoring the opposing side. Grant, Elonda and Brent Hennebury all lead the team in points with 2, a total that is expected to rise this weekend. Sea-Hawks Head Coach Noel Stanford expects the team to be focused on improving their overall performance over the next few weeks as the games become more meaningful. The goaltending duo of Kirk Edwards (0.818 SV%) and Daniel Hanlon (0.563 SV%) have both made two starts this season and it remains to be seen which of the pair will man the net over the weekend.

The Tigers like many teams in the AUS to start the season, are a bit starved for offence, only scoring 3 times in their first 3 games. Striker's Luke Berryman, Mohammed Jaber, and Midfielder Connor Manuel have all contributed a goal to the Tigers cause and will be looking to do so again this weekend. Tending the net for the Tigers in all of their three games this season is Aiden Rushenas, who has a 0.739 SV% and 1 clean sheet in his appearances. The match will take place Friday, September 23rd at 5:15 PM AST, and will be played at Wickwire field in Halifax.

The Huskies have enjoyed a stellar start to the season through 4 games, thriving on both the offensive and defensive ends of the pitch. The Huskies are led by forward Sean Freeman, the AUS leader in goals (5) and points (6), the Sea-Hawks will have to keep a keen eye on the talented forward. Forward Ahmed Ibrahim and Midfielder Cian Tousignant-Osiadhail have both provided solid secondary scoring early in the season, both have scored a goal each and only rank behind Freeman in points (2). Goalkeeper Jensen Brown has started 3 of the 4 Huskies games this season, posting a solid 0.813 SV% along with 2 wins and a clean sheet, he will be a willing combatant against the Sea-Hawks. The two teams will take to the pitch at Huskies Stadium on Sunday, September 25th at 1:15 PM AST.
