Sea-Hawks Set to Host Panthers for Pair of Critical Games

With only 3 games remaining on their schedule, the Memorial Sea-Hawks (2-6-1) will have to have a strong finish to the season to qualify as a top-6 team and make the AUS Championship. This weekend they face a hungry UPEI Panthers (0-6-2) for two pivotal games at King George V Park in St. Johns, Newfoundland.

Through 9 contests the Sea-Hawks currently sit in 7th place in the AUS standings, trailing the 6th place Université de Moncton Aigles-Bleus by just 2 points. Sea-Hawks midfielder Felly Elonda has enjoyed a strong season up until this point, leading the team in goals (2) and tied for the lead in points (3). Not to be forgotten, Sea-Hawks striker Jacob Grant has been a premier offensive force for the squad, scoring 1 goal on the season and adding 2 assists. The 4th year forward also leads the team in shots (12) and has been one of the driving forces of the Sea-Hawks offence.

The UPEI Panthers (0-6-2) find themselves in 10th place in the AUS standings and will look to finish the season on a high note, starting this weekend in St. Johns. 2nd year midfielder Kasper Lasia has been one of the bright spots on the Panthers roster, leading the team in points (3) and shots (6) while controlling play through the middle of the field. Salem Fragg and Jonathan MacKenzie have also added to the Panthers total this season, each scoring a goal so far this season. 

The first game between the two sides takes place tomorrow at 7:15 PM NST, with the finale being Saturday, October 22nd at 3:15 PM NST.
