Sea-Hawks Take on the UNB Red's and Moncton Blue Eagles During First Away Games

The Memorial Sea-Hawks are Looking to Gain Some Points During 2 Games on the Road in New Brunswick

The Memorial Sea-Hawks split the past weekend with the Dalhousie Tigers, gaining 3 points each.

The Sea-Hawks defeated the Tigers 1-0 during their first game with a goal from Sarah Jones just before half. The Sea-Hawks were then able to defend off the Tigers during the entirety of their first game. Rookie defenders Kendra Schram and Sydney Schram were key players in Memorials successful defending. Goalie Shannon Galway had an impressive performance and saved all 7 shots to put up her first shutout during her first game. The second game of the weekend resulted in a 1-0 win for the Tigers. A goal early into the second half put the Tigers up 1-0 and the Sea-Hawks could not convert on any chances.

The Memorial Sea-Hawks are set to face the UNB Reds (0-2-0) on Friday, September 8th at 5:00 pm ADT, followed by the Moncton Blue Eagles (0-2-0) on Sunday, September 10th at 12:00 pm ADT. UNB attackers Heidi Lauwerijssen, Helen Langrehr, and Sophia Maillet who were the goal scorers last weekend, will be looking to try and put some numbers on the scoreboard this coming weekend against Memorial in an attempt to gain a needed win. Memorial is hoping to further test UNB's goalie, Lauren Kelly who currently sits with a save percentage of 0.764 in her first two games, saving 16 of 21 shots. The Moncton Blue Eagles will be looking to brew some offense and strengthen their defense during their game against Memorial as they are coming off of two big losses where they conceded 15 total goals and scored only once. The lone goal scorer for Moncton was Madeleine Belliveau who will be eager to net some more this coming weekend.

The Memorial Sea-hawks will be looking to add to their win column during the two away games this weekend. Hoping to continue to thrive in the defensive end, goalie Shannon Galway who has a current save percentage of 0.933 will once again be a strong presence in net. Finding their way past two already tested goalies may pose a challenge for Memorial, but their attackers are ready to prove their strength.
