Sea-Hawks Head to New Brunswick

Sea-Hawks Head to New Brunswick

The Memorial Sea-Hawks (3-2-3) travel to New Brunswick this weekend to take on the UNB Reds (2-7-1) and the Moncton Aigles Bleus (1-8-0).

This weekend's matches will be the Sea-Hawks first action since hosting the Cape Breton Capers on Sept. 29th and 30th.  The Sea-Hawks currently sit in 6th place in the AUS standings, with important points on the line this weekend.

The Hawks have been one of the best defensive teams in the AUS this season, only allowing 3 goals over their 8 games played. However, goals have been hard to come by this season, as the team sits last in the AUS in goals scored.

UNB are chasing the Sea-Hawks for the final playoff spot in the AUS, making the Saturday matchup an important one for both sides.  The Reds have allowed 15 goals on the season, while Moncton has allowed a league worst 26 goals. The Sea-Hawks will look to find their goal scoring touch and move up the standings as they make their final push as the 2018 AUS Soccer Championships are fast approaching.

Nicole Torraville (St. John's, NL) has 2 of the Hawks 4 goals on the season and she will look to add to those totals this weekend. Torraville feels the break has been good for her squad as they look to climb the standings.

"I think the break has helped us tremendously. We've spent a lot of time on the training ground making improvements to implement for the final stretch of our season."

Memorial will play UNB on Saturday at 1:30pm NST and against Moncton on Sunday at 1:30pm NST. All games can be streamed live on AUStv.ca.
