Hawks Get Ready for Road Trip

The Memorial Sea-Hawks (1-0-1) return to the pitch this weekend to take on the Mount Allison Mounties (0-1-0) and the Acadia Axewomen (2-0-0).

Although still early in the season, Memorial sits in 4th place with one tie and one win from last weekend. The Sea Hawks are 2 points behind the Axewomen, and 4 points ahead of Mount Allison with one game in hand.

After last weekend, Sea-Hawks coach Mike Power feels his team is "confident but certainly not content. This weekend we are expecting more of the same – and that is tough opposition who will be motivated, organized, and ready to battle for the points. We look forward to the challenges that lie ahead".

This Saturday the Sea-Hawks will take on the Mounties who are currently ranked last place in AUS standings. The standings are not a fair portrayal of the Mounties who have only played one game so far this season. Memorial will have to come out of the gates strong and not underestimate the barely tested Mount Allison team.

After their battle with the Mounties on Saturday, the Sea-Hawks travel to Nova Scotia on Sunday and will have their work cut out for them when they face the #1 ranked Axewomen who registered 10 goals in only 2 games. The Axewomen have the two top scorers in the AUS currently, Rachelle Aucoin and Jenna Boudreau who both scored two goals apiece last weekend. Memorial's keeper Sydney Walsh will need to have a strong performance to keep the Acadia strikers under wraps.

Last Sunday's player of the game Nicole Torraville is "feeling really good about the team heading into this weekend's games. After a beneficial week on the training ground, the team vibe is great and I anticipate we will produce two quality performances this weekend on the road. We are coming off a solid team win and will be looking to continue to build our momentum heading into this weekend's games".

Memorial will play Mount Allison on Saturday at 3:00pm NST and against Acadia on Sunday at 3:00pm NST. All games can be streamed live on AUStv.ca.
