Stevenson Commits to Sea-Hawks

Carly Stevenson of St. John's, has officially committed to Coach Mark English and the Memorial Sea-Hawks for the 2019-2020 season.

Height: 5'10

Carly attends Holy Heart of Mary School and has been a key member of her High School team since Grade 10. She has played provincial basketball four consecutive  years. This past summer Carly was a major part of the 2018 NL U17 team where she averaged 11.5 PPG, 8.5 RPG and 2.5 APG at Nationals.

Coach English feels they are adding toughness with the commitment of Carly.  

"We are really excited to have Carly commit to your basketball program. She has proved herself at every level and continues to improve every day. Carly plays with an unmatched toughness and grit, which I had the pleasure to see this past summer while coaching her on the NL U17 team.  Carly has high athletic and academic goals and that is something we look for in our future athlete's. We cannot wait to get started working with her."

2017 – Member of U17 NL Basketball Canada Games Team

2016 – Attended NL Summer Games in Track and Field

For Carly, being able to stay home and continue to play basketball at the U Sports level is an incredible opportunity and something she is excited about.

"Growing up in St. John's, the Sea-Hawks have been my role models for as long as I can remember. I am so grateful to be able to continue to play basketball in my hometown for a team and University that means so much to me. I am also very excited to explore the Sciences offered at Memorial and hope to eventually move on to study Medicine."
