Sea-Hawks Visit X-Women

Sea-Hawks Visit X-Women

Matchup

The Hawks (8-8) look to gain ground in the standings against the StFX X-Women (1-15). This season has not been kind to StFX, being virtually eliminated from any playoff run. Memorial, on the other hand, will be looking to advance in the standings surpassing UPEI that holds the same record, but ranks one spot higher on the basis of points, with UPEI having two more.

Last Action

After breaking their season long drought of any victories on the 26th of January, the X-Women went on another two-game losing streak. They face Memorial with their memories of being swept in the previous encounter. Memorial will be confident coming in to this series, as they have the knowledge that they can sweep their opponents. They are coming off the split-victory against UPEI, perhaps many Sea-Hawks believing they should have taken the whole series. They will look to use their frustrations as motivation.

By the Numbers

31.4% - The X-Women have the worst shooting percentage in the AUS this season. With this knowledge, Memorial will be confident on the defensive end, knowing their opponents struggle scoring. The plan for Memorial will be to play their pace; fast-break layups, capitalizing on turnovers, and earning hustle points.

30.9% - Memorial is currently second in the AUS in three-point percentage. StFX is dead last. With such a solid team average behind the line, the Hawks won't hesitate to take any open looks from beyond the arc.

6 – St. FX does not rank higher than sixth place in any statistical category this season.

Player Spotlight

Brooklyn Wright (Memorial): Wright has been a key figure in the Hawks offense this year, with her versatility around the floor. In her last game, Wright posted a dominating 30 points and 12 rebounds leading her team. Wright will look to continue this strong performance as she controls the paint in this upcoming series.
