Hawks Look to Tame Tigers

Matchup

The Sea-Hawks (6-4) take on the Dalhousie Tigers (2-6) this upcoming weekend as a two-game series on Dalhousie' home court. Memorial currently stands in second place in the AUS; Dal is in the second last position. Memorial will be looking to solidify their place in the rankings while also trying to chase Acadia who is currently undefeated at the top spot.

Last Action

The Sea-Hawks split their last two games against the Cape Breton Capers. Coming back from the winter break proved difficult for the Hawks as they played notably slower than what we had witnessed before the break. Having beaten the Tigers in their last meeting at the Fieldhouse, Memorial will be looking to rebuild a winning streak progressing further in to the season.

By the Numbers

11.4 – Memorial currently stands in third place for offensive rebound per game in the AUS. The Sea-Hawks will be looking to crash the glass looking for second chance points against the Dalhousie defense.

27.8 – Both Memorial and Dalhousie average the same number of defensive rebounds per game in the AUS. This will be a point of contention for both teams, as the team that secures rebounds on both ends of the floor will find success throughout the game.

21.0 – Dalhousie currently ranks last in the AUS for turnovers per game. Memorial will certainly look to apply pressure on the defensive end, forcing mistakes to capitalize on easy points in transition. Memorial ranks in third for least turnovers per game.

8.7 – Memorial and Dalhousie once again have similar statistics in the steals category; Dalhousie averages 8.3 steals per game. Defensively, both teams will look to gamble on passes, deny entry down-low, and pressure the ball handler to minimize the opposition's time with the ball.
