Sea-Hawks Look To Continue Winning Ways

The Matchup

The Sea-Hawks and X-Women match-up for the first time this season.  Memorial swept the season series last year 4 to 0 and will look to build on last weekend's offensive output at home this weekend. 

The Sea-Hawks currently sit at 2-2, which puts them in fourth place in the AUS, while StFX is winless on the season, with an 0-4 record. Although winless, the X-Women have been one of the stronger defensive teams in the AUS, only giving up 69.8 points PPG.

Last Action

The Sea-Hawks are coming off a weekend sweep of the Dalhousie Tigers, which improved their record to 2-2 on the season.  Memorial put up 87 points on Saturday night, followed by an 80 point Sunday performance. 

The X-Women lost a pair of games to the 5-0 Acadia Axewomen by double digits. 

By the Numbers

30.7% vs 23.4% - The Sea-Hawks are the third ranked team in the AUS in 3-point shooting percentage, while the X-Women are last averaging 23.4%.  The Hawks shot 33.3% from long distance at home last weekend and will look to improve on this number again this weekend.

27 – Sydney Stewart put up a season-high 27 points in the Sea-Hawks double digit win over the Tigers.  Stewart will once again be asked to shoulder the scoring load for the Hawks in their last home weekend of the first half of the season.

Players to Watch

Sydney Stewart (Memorial) – The Sarnia, ON native is currently 2nd in AUS scoring averaging 19.0 PPG.  Stewart enters the game shooting 50% from the field this season.  

Lindsay Taylor (Memorial) – Taylor enters the game averaging 53.6% from the 3-point line and is currently 4th all time in made 3-pointers for the Sea-Hawks, just 2 behind Robyn O'Rielly who made 122 over her 5-year career.

Chelsea Provo (StFX) – Provo enters the game as the X-Women's leading scorer, 2nd in rebounds per game, and 2nd in assists per game.  She will no doubt lead the charge for the X-Women as they look for their first victories of the season.
