"We are very excited to have Cameron commit to our program. We felt we needed to add more size and physicality to our lineup, and there is no question we are getting that with Cameron. Her ability to defend the post and rebound is something that will help our team next season. Cameron's academic record is also very impressive. She is a high character student athlete, who holds her pride in her work ethic and passion for the game of basketball. These are the qualities we are looking for in our athletes, as we continue to build our program in to Conference and National contenders." – Mark English

Cameron has represented the top club program in Nova Scotia, the Thunder Selects, for 3 straight summers, under coach Brandon Rafuse. She was named Rookie of the Year at Sir John A. Macdonald High School in Grade 10. Cameron has been named to the Principals list 3 years in a row at her High School. This season her high school team has won the Bedford Classic in Nova Scotia, where Cameron posted 8 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block in the final. Cameron brings to Memorial a high basketball IQ, matched with an incredible work ethic. She is excited about her opportunity with the Seahawks.

"The minute I arrived at Memorial I knew it was what I wanted. It has a family feel, everyone is so welcoming and I was positive it was the best fit for me. I'm looking forward to taking my game to the next level with the Sea-Hawks and getting my education at such an amazing university. I'm thrilled with the opportunity Coach English has given me and I can't wait to contribute to the team." - Cameron Longley
