Sea-Hawks Conclude Season in Quebec

The Sea-Hawks head into the final weekend of their volleyball season as they travel to Laval, Quebec for AUS-RSEQ Interlock Event #3. Following last weekend's losses to the Dalhousie Tigers, Memorial finds themselves 0-14 on the year, with time running out to put something in the win column.

It isn't all doom and gloom for this group. Despite the frustrations that come with a down season, the team has remained positive. Speaking with coach Cisco Farrero, he admitted that the inconsistency has been frustrating. "I love the effort of our team every night and the execution is what wavers." He added, "I think the team is pretty positive. They take pride in their effort and their play and have maintained a good mindset. On the upcoming weekend in Quebec City I expect the team to keep fighting."

It's good to see that coaching staff and players alike are keeping the positive mindset. While the progress hasn't shown up in the form of victory yet, the improvement the team has made is clear. Coach Farrero should be commended on his work with this group. It would have been easy to take the more negative view, but instead he and his team have continued to grind.

They'll be looking to keep grinding right into their first win of the season, which will hopefully come this weekend. The Sea-Hawks take on Sherbrooke Friday at 6:00 PM, which is certainly a winnable game. They then move on to play Laval and Montreal (Saturday at 1:00 PM, Sunday at 6:00 PM) where they'll be tested by two top ten teams.
