Sea-Hawks visit Varsity Reds for weekend set

The Sea-Hawks are off to UNB for a quick two game series against their Varsity Red's. They'll be looking to create some positives to build on after dropping all three of their matches last weekend in straight sets. The hope for this team is that they can grow and find success as a team moving forward.

Coach Cisco Farrero said after last weekend that there was a ton of inconsistency. After sounding positive about the team's progress coming out of the break, coach Farrero is hoping that progress starts to manifest itself sooner rather than later, saying that his team needs to make a "conscious effort to improve."

That improvement is something that coach Farrero seemed to think would come last weekend, but the Sea-Hawks found themselves treading water. There were signs that the team was moving forward, with reports coming from practice that their first touch was vastly improved after some concentrated effort, but it didn't manifest in a victory last weekend.

Still, this is a talented team that can surely create some positivity with a strong showing against a UNB team that has seen their own share of struggles on the season. Interestingly, the Varsity Red's are 1-4 at home this year. Their failure to defend their home court could be the basis for Memorial's first win of the season, against a team that has lost seven of their last eight matches.

The games go 8:00 PM on Friday and 2:00 PM on Saturday. Both are available to be streamed, live on AUStv.ca.
