Sea-Hawks Fall 0-2 In Tough Weekend Series

The second game of the series was one that left the fans wanting more. Today's rematch was another showing of pure athleticism. After yesterday's match both teams came out eager and hoping to leave with the win. After 90 minutes of great action SMU was able to leave with a second success upping the Sea-Hawks 3-0.

Only five minutes into play Sea-Hawks #10 Tyler Kirby lined up a corner kick with the net but SMU keeper Jensen Brown volleyed it over the top. After some strong play but few shots on goal, #11 Alex Black broke the silence in the 24th minute with a hard shot but was shut down on a great save by Sea-Hawks keeper #31 Dylan Crichton. To start the Huskies on the scoreboard #9 Tyler Dorey put in a rebound after teammate #7 James Spence missed off the post. In the 45th minute #11 Alex Black finished the half with a header off an assist from #7 James Spence.

To continue the action in the second half, MUN's Tyler Kirby had an attempt at Huskies net but was turned down by an offsides call. Shortly thereafter SMU's Tyler Dorey came back to test the Sea-Hawks keeper but Crichton wouldn't allow for the goal. Not letting MUN's keeper rest #10 Sumit Malik sent him a hard shot but Dylan Crichton would meet the challenge, denying the goal with an impressive diving push- away. In the last few minutes of play, Sumit Malik sent a rocket into the back of the Sea-Hawks net to bring the team to 3 goals.

The Men's Sea-Hawks play again next weekend, September 14th at UNB.
