Hawks Looking to Make Playoff Push

The Memorial Sea-Hawks men's soccer team returns to the field this weekend to take on the UPEI Panthers (4-5-0) and the Acadia Axemen (4-3-2) in AUS men's soccer action.  This will be the final regular season road trip for the Sea-Hawks with crucial points on the line in both games.

Memorial and PEI both have 12 points on the season, with the Sea-Hawks holding the 6th place position having a game in hand on the Panthers.  Acadia is tied for 3rd place in the AUS standings with 14 points on the season.  Securing points in both games would put Memorial in prime position to return to the playoffs after just falling short last season.

Although both games are crucial for the Sea-Hawks this weekend, the team's focus is only on PEI.

"Two quality teams in our way this coming weekend. But as of this moment our focus is only on PEI. That's our first game and we have to be prepared to battle with them for 3 points" says 5th year striker Tyler Forsey.

Forsey is leading the team in goals, with 7, which currently has him ranked 2nd overall in the AUS goal scoring race.

The Sea-Hawks haven't played since Sunday, October 1st when they defeated the UNB Varsity Reds 1-0 at King George Vth.  The AUS regular season took a short break while the National Club Soccer Championships took place in Surrey, BC.

The Sea-Hawks and Panthers will begin play at 3:45pm NST on Saturday afternoon from Prince Edward Island. Then the Hawks will be back in action on Sunday at 3:45pm NST to face the Acadia Axemen in Wolfville, NS.  Both games can be watched live on AUStv.ca.
