Hawks Ready for Crucial Road Weekend

The Memorial Sea-Hawks (3-1-0) men's soccer team is back in action this weekend as they travel to Nova Scotia to take on the Cape Breton Capers (2-0-1) and StFX X-Men (4-0-0).

The Sea-Hawks currently led the AUS in goals with 14 and they will need to continue to find the back of the net this weekend as both the Capers and X-Men have only allowed 1 goal each this season.

The Sea-Hawks will rely on AUS goal scoring leader Tyler Forsey (St. Phillips, NL) to led them up front this weekend.  Forsey has 5 goals in his first 4 games so far this season and will look to continue to add to those totals against two tough opponents.

Cape Breton currently sits at #8 in the U Sports rankings, while the X-Men hold the #7 position. Memorial currently sits in 3rd place in the AUS standings, 3 points behind the X-Men and 2 points ahead of the Capers.

Head Coach Jake Stanford knows his team is in tough this weekend, but his teams approach hasn't changed and he expects his squad to fight hard and earn points.

"Our approach in training has not changed, as preparation for any game is important in this league.  We realize that we have two very good opponents, but we do not fear them.  We have belief that we can play with any team in this league.

The Sea-Hawks will play both games at 3:45pm NST this weekend.  Cape Breton will be Memorial's first opponent on Saturday, followed by the X-Men on Sunday. Both games can be watched live on AUStv.ca.
