Sea-Hawks off to Halifax to Visit Huskies & Tigers

The Memorial Sea-Hawks will look to build on their opening weekend sweep of the Mount Allison Mounties when they head to Halifax this weekend for games against the Saint Mary's Huskies and Dalhousie Tigers in AUS soccer action.

The Sea-Hawks will be led by reigning AUS Player of the Week Tyler Kirby (St. John's, NL) who currently leads the AUS in scoring with 4 goals to start the season.  Kirby will be joined upfront by 5th year striker Tyler Forsey (St. Phillips, NL), who tallied 3 markers in the opening weekend.

Head Coach Jake Stanford saw lots of positives in the teams opening weekend performance and hopes to build on those factors this weekend.

"The main goal is to continue with positive play and build on our opening weekend performance.  We realize that each game will be more difficult, so our performance has to be consistent, with improved play, as we move forward."

The Sea-Hawks also get 5th year midfield Jordi Slaney (St. Lawrence, NL) back into the lineup this weekend, after he missed the opening weekend due to academic commitments.  Slaney's presence should give the Sea-Hawks another boost when they take the field this weekend

Memorial and Saint Mary's will begin play at 3:45pm NST on Saturday afternoon from Huskies Stadium. Then the Sea-Hawks will be back in action on Sunday at 3:45pm NST to face the Dalhousie Tigers.  Both games can be watched live on AUStv.ca.
