Sea-Hawks Soar Past Mounties for Sweep

(St. John's, NL) – The Memorial Sea-Hawks completed a weekend sweep of the Mount Allison Mounties with an 8-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at King George Vth Soccer Field.

Mitchell Barry (Goose Bay, NL) opened the scoring for the Sea-Hawks in the 34th minute after receiving a great pass from teammate Ryan Farrell (Kildare, Ireland).  It was the first career goal for the rookie striker.  That would be the lone marker in the first half, giving the Sea-Hawks a 1-0 advantage at the break.

Memorial put the pressure on the Mounties to start the second half, with Daniel Crewe (Paradise, NL) scoring one minute and twenty seconds in to extend their lead to two goals.  The Sea-Hawks would then get goals from Ranaldo Morris (58", 85"), Tyler Kirby (61", 64"), and Tyler Forsey (72", 73") to make the final score 8-0.

Forsey also scored twice in Saturday's opener to give him four goals early in the season.

Mitchell Barry was the Subway Player of the Game, registering the game winning goal for the Sea-Hawks.

The Sea-Hawks head to Halifax next weekend for games against the Saint Mary's Huskies and Dalhousie Tigers.  The Mounties return home with games scheduled against the UPEI Panthers and the Acadia Axemen. All games are available on webcast at AUStv.ca.
