Hawks Place 2nd at AUS Curling Championship

(HALIFAX, NS)—The Dalhousie curling club swept the men's and women's titles at the 2020 Subway AUS Curling Championships, presented by Keep It Social, being hosted by the Saint Mary's Huskies at the CFB Halifax Curling Club. 

On the men's side it was #1 Memorial (4-0) versus #2 Dal (3-1) while the women's final saw #1 Dal (5-0) take on #2 UNB (3-2). 

Dal knocked off Memorial 9-2 in four ends. Memorial led 1-0 after a single in the first end. Dal scored answered back with five in the second and four in the fourth after Memorial scored a single in the third. 

This is Dal's third AUS title in a row and four in five years.  

Matthew Manuel skipped the Tigers with Owen Purcell, Jeffrey Meagher, Adam McEachren and were coached by Anthony Purcell. 

The Sea-Hawks were skipped by Greg Blyde, Daniel Bruce, Ryan McNeil Lamswood and Benjamin Stringer. 

All four finalists earn berths into the U SPORTS national championship March 11-15 in Portage la Prairie, Man.
