Nova Scotia Guard Andre Ash Commits to Sea-Hawks

St. John's, NL - April 16, 2024 - Andre Ash, a 6'1" Guard from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, has officially announced his commitment to join the Memorial Sea-Hawks Men's Basketball Program.

Ash was a standout for Auburn Drive High School this year, leading the team in scoring, earning recognition as a SSNS All-Star. The lefty guard was also a member of the Nova Scotia U17 team this past summer, competing in the National Championships in Sherbrooke, QC.

"We are thrilled to welcome Andre to our team," exclaimed Head Coach Ian Coultas. "His tenacity and versatility make him a valuable addition, and we believe he has the potential to become a standout player in the AUS."

Andre has the ability to handle the ball from the PG position or play off the ball, as he shoots from the 3PT line at a great rate.

"I'm a fast-paced athletic guard who loves to compete," said the Nova Scotia product. "I'm going to come in and work hard and help the team win any way I can."

Beyond his prowess on the court, Ash is equally committed to his academic pursuits. He will study Political Science and believes Memorial provides the perfect environment for him to excel academically while leaving a lasting impact on the basketball program.

"Memorial's commitment to academic excellence aligns perfectly with my goals," remarked Ash. "I am eager to contribute to the Sea-Hawks' success on and off the court."
