vs. University of Alberta

The University of Alberta Golden Bears went 1-2 in the Victoria Vikes Invitational last weekend. Their Fifth year guard, Brandon Meiklejohn, has been a very solid player for them, as he averaged 19.3 points per game in their first 3 games. Adam Paige, a fifth year forward had two 20+ point performances during the invitational. The offense averaged 69.3 points per game, while their defense averaged 71.3 points against.

vs. MacEwan

The MacEwan University Griffins have yet to play in any games so far, so this will be everyone's first look at them. MacEwan is a pretty young team, however there are definitely some notable players on this team. Third year guard Matthew Osunde averaged 13.6 points per game last season, while also averaging 6.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. Third year wing Job Janda is another threat on this team, as last season he averaged 9.9 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game.

vs. Thompson Rivers

The Wolfpack have only played one exhibition game so far, and that was all the way back on August 3rd against the Boise State Broncos, a division 1 NCAA school, where they lost 83-60. There are a few key players on this team that are big threats, like fourth year forward Asher Mayan, who averaged 14.1 points per game last season, and 15.4 the year before. He's also averaged 5.7 rebounds a game the last two seasons. Denys Bachurin is another fourth year forward on this team, who played his first season last year. He averaged 14.4 points per game, along with 5.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Second year guard Cyrus Harrison is another player I would like to highlight, as he had 10.1 points per game in his freshman season last year.

Notable Sea-Hawk performances

Third year guard Flynn Boardman-Raffet turned in multiple strong performances for the Sea-Hawks during their 3-game trip to Ontario a couple of weeks ago. He put up a double-double in all three games, averaging 17.6 points per game and 12.3 rebounds a game. In his sophomore season last year he averaged a solid 12.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.

Forth year forward, Emanuel Ring, played in the opening game loss against McMaster, where he put up a double-double, 12 points and 10 rebounds. He had a phenomenal season last year, where he averaged 23.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. He'll certainly hope to build off of the successful campaign he had in 2022-23.

Fourth year forward Nicholas Tuff featured in all 3 games. He averaged 13.3 points per game as well as 6.3 rebounds per game. He played and started in 20 games for the Sea-Hawks last year, where he averaged 16.1 points per game along with 6.8 rebounds a game.

Josh Reimer, a second-year forward also had some solid performances during the road trip. In the 74-68 win against Laurier, Reimer produced 12 points and 5 rebounds, and in their other win, a 102-98 overtime thriller against Guelph, where he put up 14 points and 3 rebounds.
