SEA-HAWKS LAND ST. JOHN’S RECRUIT BOWER ISAACS

(St. John's, NL) The Memorial Sea-Hawks men's basketball team is pleased to announce the signing of Bower Isaacs for the 2023-24 season. Isaacs is a 6'2" guard from St. John's, NL. Bower played high school basketball at Waterford Valley and was a member of the 2022 NL Canada Games Team.

Memorial Head Coach, Ian Coultas, looks forward to having the young guard join the program next season.

"It's great to be able to add Bower to our roster for next season. I've been able to watch him play a lot over the last few years and I know he has the ability to make a big impact with our team. Bower is a very strong 2-way guard that competes really hard. Seeing his development over the last few years has been impressive and I look forward to seeing that continue as he competes in the AUS", says Coultas.

Bower has won a number of basketball awards over the last few years, which include U18 Club MVP, KKMT MVP, Steele All-Atlantic Participant, as well as being an Biosteel All-Canadian Nominee. The St. John's native is also a standout in the classroom, being named to the Principals List and earning the Scholar Athlete Award.

Bower's high school coach Brad Sherriffs believes the Sea-Hawks are getting a great addition to the program.

"Bower is more than just a great basketball player; he is an excellent student and an even better person. He has put in a lot of hard work both on and off the court over the last three years at Valley and will be a fantastic player and teammate at Memorial," states Coach Sherriffs.

"As a hometown kid I watched the Sea-Hawks a lot growing, so the thought of being able to be a part of that is a dream come true. And the program itself is well coached and the team has been very competitive in the AUS, which is something I'm really looking forward to experiencing" says Isaacs.

He also added, "I feel like I bring a certain intensity to the game on both ends of the floor. I can shoot the ball at a high clip and I am capable of getting downhill and finishing at the rim. No matter my role at Memorial, I'll do whatever is needed of me to contribute to winning."

Bower has been accepted into the Human Kinetics & Recreation program, which he will begin this fall.
