Sea-Hawks Return to Home Court

The Memorial Sea-Hawks (4-4) will take to the court for the first time since November 21st, when they host the St. FX X-Men (5-4) for a pair of games this weekend.

Prior to the near three-month break, the Sea-Hawks were being led once again by their star centre Cole Long, the team's leading scorer is averaging 20.6 points-per-game, along with a team-leading 11.1 rebounds-per-game, while also being a threat on the defensive end, racking up an average of 1.9 steals-per-game. Long is one of the premier players in the AUS, ranking second in league scoring. The Sea-Hawks boast 5 players who are scoring at an average of 10+ points-per-game, the only team in the AUS to do so, including Long, the rest include: Nathan Barker (12.5), Nicolas Tuff (11.9), Jason Thompson (11.1), and Boris Ristanovic (10.9). With a balanced scoring attack that strong, they will have an advantage heading into the final stretch.

The X-Men enjoyed a solid start to the season in their first 9 games, finding themselves in a tie for second place, holding a steady position entering the second-half of the regular season. X-Men leading scorer Justin Andrew, who's averaging 18.1 points-per-game, and is followed closely by teammates Avan Nava (14.9), Dondre Reddick (12.3), and David Muenkat (11.6). X-Men forward David Muenkat ranks second in the AUS in rebounds with 11.0 per-game and is one of two players to average a double-double this season, the other being Cole Long.

The Sea-Hawks and X-Men will open up the weekend at the Memorial Fieldhouse on Friday, February 18th at 8:00 PM, and the finale will take place at 3:00 PM on Saturday.
