Memorial Sea-Hawks to Face UNB

The Memorial Sea-Hawks (3-3) head back onto the road for a pair of games against the UNB Reds (3-3), the two team's currently sit in a four-team deadlock for 3rd place.

Sea-Hawks star centre Cole Long put forth another stellar performance last weekend, enough to earn him Memorial Male Athlete of the Week honours. Long ranks 2nd in the AUS with 21.2 points-per-game, in addition his 11.5 rebounds-per-game place him in 2nd place too, he's been the driving force of this Sea-Hawks team. The Sea-Hawks have enjoyed solid depth scoring as well, Nicholas Tuff is averaging 12.2 points-per-game, with guard Jason Thompson (11.7 points-per-game) and forward Nathan Barker (11.0 points-per-game) pacing the rest of the lineup. Long has also been a machine on the defensive end as well, he leads the team with 1.7 steals-per-game and 1.0 blocks-per-game, opposing teams have to be weary of Long on both ends of the court. Long believe if they can limit turnovers this weekend, they secure 2 wins to finish off the first half of the season "I think a major factor in 3 of our wins is limiting turnovers and valuing our possessions. I believe if we focus on that, everything else will fall in place to secure 2 wins to finish off the first half."

The host UNB Reds will look to continue their two-game winning streak this weekend, coming off consecutive victories over the Acadia Axe-Men. The Reds are led by guard Chris Spurrell, his 15.3 points-per-game lead all UNB players and positions him 11th in the entire AUS. The Reds have also gotten outstanding production from power forward Ibrahima Doumbouya, who is averaging 12.5 points-per-game, along with a team-high 9.8 rebounds-per-game. On the defensive side of the ball the Reds are led by Spurrell and Doumbouya's 1.5 steals-per-game, their balanced offensive and defensive repertoire allow them to be successful.

The first game between the two teams will take place on Saturday, November 20th at 8:00 PM AT, while the finale will be on Sunday at 3:00 PM AT. Note: Both games this series will be worth 4 points for the winner.
