Sea-Hawks Look to Bounce Back at Home

After losing their first two games of the 2021-22 season, the Memorial Sea-Hawks men's basketball team (0-2) will look to get back on track with a pair of home games versus the Cape Breton Capers (0-2).

The Sea-Hawks begun the season with a pair of losses against the UPEI Panthers by scores of 75-66 and 80-75, for the majority of both contests, the game could have gone either way. Sea-Hawks forward Nicholas Tuff led the charge in the team's first game with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while centre Cole Long led the way on the defensive end with 8 points, 13 rebounds, 1 steal, and 2 blocks. In the following game, the Sea-Hawks experienced plenty of production from their starters: Jason Thompson (20pts-5reb-7ast), Cole Long (20pts-12reb-2ast), and Boris Ristanovic (15pts-11reb-1stl) all enjoyed big nights for the Sea-Hawks in their second game.

The Cape Breton Capers dropped their opening two games of the season to the Dalhousie Tigers, by scores of 63-54, and 70-68. The Capers will rely heavily on guard Osman Omar for the bulk of their offence, he's averaging 14.5ppg-3.5rpg-3.0apg on 32.4 % on field goals. Guard Jason Callaghan dropped a 22-point game versus the Tigers in their 70-68 loss, on 3-7 shooting from three-point range, the most points scored in a single game this season for the Capers.

The games will be played on Saturday, November 6 at 8:00 PM NDT, and Sunday, November 7th at 3:00 PM NDT, at the Fieldhouse in St. Johns.
