Sea-Hawks Soar High on Saturday Night

Sea-Hawks Soar High on Saturday Night

The Memorial Sea-Hawks beat the Acadia Axemen, 91-72, in the first game of their weekend series. It was an exceptional team performance with multiple highlight plays – steals, dunks, and alley oops.

Memorial came out hot in the first quarter, firing on all cylinders. The Hawks were solid on both ends of the floor, preventing good looks for the Axemen and getting solid chances on offense. Cole Long was exceptional in the first half, posting 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. The Axemen struggled to get good looks in the first twenty minutes, shooting just 33% from the field and a desperate 22% from deep.

The second half was more of the same for the Hawks. They kept up the pressure on defense, while executing exceptionally well on offense. Cole Long (#23) was exceptional for the Hawks, posting 34 points in the victory. He earned himself player-of-the-game commendations. Acadia struggled to string together any form of consistent success on both ends of the court. It was uncharacteristic of a strong program.

The Hawks will look for a sweep in the weekend series against the Axemen. All Sea-Hawks home games are available on austv.ca
