Sea-Hawks Clinch Playoff Berth

(St. John's, NL) Despite missing their starting point guard Davion Parnsalu the Memorial Sea-Hawks had their best offensive display of the season defeating the UPEI Panthers 106-92.  The win helped the Sea-Hawks clinch a playoff spot in the process.

For UPEI, the playoff picture now becomes more complicated, though they do have a shot at chasing down Acadia.

This one was an absolute shootout, and with $25 for every Memorial 3 pointer going to breast cancer research, Daniel Gordon did his part tonight. He was 8 of 14 from outside and finished with a game high 33 points in the win. Vasilije Curcic was 5 of 9 from downtown and finished with a double-double on the night. He totalled 25 points and 12 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Tyler Scott was still a handful for the defense. He led the Panthers with 22 points on 8 of 18 shooting. Samy Mohamed also played well, cashing in on 5 of his 11 3's on his way to 17 points. Star big-man Dut Dut did his part in the losing effort with 16 points and 10 boards.

The Panthers will be looking to avenge the loss tomorrow when these teams are back in action at 2:00 PM in the Field House. The game is also available on AUStv.ca
